Its good to see some positive stuff coming in from the crew from California... everyone has had some bad luck from what I have been reading / hearing.

Well Mantia is continuing to do well in all of his races from what I have seen of the results. I think Sara may be done for Championships I didnt see her in the heats so I mo not sure if she even lined up. From What I hear she is in alot of pain. Coming from a person like Sara and knowing her mind set this really sucks for someone who truely LOVES the sport of speed skating.
I saw both Ferre's name and Kwinten's in the 500... sucks that they had to race against each other in a heat.
Looks like Sr Men finished their 500 semi a little while ago... Mantia and Causil look to be the favorites right now and I do wish I could see that battle as its gonna be a great one! Bowen was racing with Mantia in his heat... again sucks that had to happen as Bowen looked like he was skating pretty well during ODN.
Anyways... Nastassia Hamor got in contact with me and she enjoying taking pictures of little Chinese children so if you read about her in the news trying to smuggle one back you'll know why! ;-) lol
Nastassia is getting ready to race later on in the evening there or first thing tomorrow morn for us... if anyone has located a live feed let us know... She'll be doing the 15k elim and I hope she does well. She better!! lol ;-)

Right on here we go... opening ceremonies kicked off and the 300 and I think points elim kicked off today.
I hope that everyone wishes the athletes from Milpitas and other countries that have skated with us at practice a big well to do!
Some of our friends had trouble getting on their last leg of the trip due to flight issues but I guess they all go sorted out.
So.... Sara, Wouter, Nastassia, Ferre, Bart, Maarten and anyone else that I may have forgotten to name I hope Worlds treats you well and you skate to the best of your ability.

A quick note from the cell phone while taking some pics... racing going well and fast. Nastassia just finished her racing for division... while not what im sure she was hoping for I think she skated well.
I'll start posting some of the falls and slips that i've caught from my little vantage point.
The first one, one of the best in my opinion is Erin doing... well something Weird and going down... but not just down, but flat and across scaring the death outta the following two other world class ladies.
Nastassia doing her community service to help the World Team. She had quite the line every time she had to sell.
Well nationals has been been pretty decent so far. the turnout has been good with not too many heats being compressed into semis or finals.
On other news Nastassia has skated prpbably the best I've ever seen. The speed committee met and decided that current qualifiers for worlds could skate their original divisions. so nastassia skated junior ladies and is so far doing good from what she has in the past.
kendal sword is also skating very well, the girls in here finals have been very fast and kendal has been holding her own.
soooo there you have it so far... its been pretty good and fun. I'll check in later.

Alrighty... its about 6:30am there in Taiwan and the racing will begin at 9:00am. First up will be the Ladies 1000m Quarter Finals. 4 Full heats are lined up with Sara being in the 3rd heat and Wouter also getting into heat 3.
Ill post the results when I get them and post some comments supporting our skaters if you guys read this! Its always good to hear from "home"

UPDATE -- Looks like there was only one heat that ran for the ladies before there was a call for a rain delay? Hmmm I thought they still skated in the rain... unless of course its that Typhoon that Wouter made mention of.
Ill Update again if i hear more.
